I never told anyone at work. So that...Absolutely. I never told anyone at work. So that way I could go and try to act 'normal'. Sometimes it worked for part of the day. Eventually it could work for almost a whole day at a time. In some ways it was nice to not think about my loss. To not notice sidelong glances of sympathy from well-meaning friends. But it was also emotionally tolling. I was more exhausted than I should be by the end of the work day. Sometimes co-workers would say things they never would have said if they had known.
